A Landing Page – The Best Way To Jump Start Your Sales

“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.”
–George Bernard Shaw

I use this quote to help me make successful landing pages. This means that I need to know who will be reading the page, what they are interested in, and what they might be thinking.

What exactly is a Landing Page?

A landing page is a stand-alone web page created specifically for the purpose of increasing conversions. Unlike other pages on your website, which may be designed to serve multiple purposes, a landing page is focused on a single goal: driving a visitor to take action. This could include signing up for a newsletter, downloading a white paper, or making a purchase. Because landing pages are so focused, they have the potential to be much more effective than other types of web pages at converting visitors into leads or customers. If you’re looking to jumpstart your sales and website conversions, creating landing pages should be one of your top priorities.

So here is what a landing page really is. A landing page is just a dedicated webpage you’re set up to promote only one product or one service or one special offer. Get my drift. If you sell 3 products and 1 service you need to have a landing page for each one of them featuring the benefits of using them. Remember this slogan

“Focus on Benefits not Features”.

In other words, outline the benefits of using your product, not all the features your product has. The more landing pages you have the better you will do in search engine rankings.

Using these templates will provide an easy way to get started on creating your target audience. You need a specific offer created for a specific audience in a very small niche.

This is one of the keys to success in using landing pages.

So do your research before beginning to build out any landing page. Then you will be able to communicate your offer in a highly hypnotic way.

Use my free Target Audience Template and Customer Profile Worksheet. To narrow down your audience within a very small niche.

It will be available on this website soon. In the meantime download the free guide Website Riches and I will send you an email with the link

Getting back to landing pages. Outline the benefits of using your product, not all the features your product has. The more landing pages you have the better you will do in search engine rankings.

Keep in mind each landing page cost you time and money and too many landing pages with large images can drastically slow down your website or as we say your Page Load Time, so use them wisely. If you are just getting started out chose 2 or three of your most popular products or services and create one page for each of these.

Remember, too many landing pages can slow down your site. The secret is to use a subdomain if you need more than 5. Landing pages will be one of the key resources you will be using to generate leads and convert sales.

To make landing pages work for your business you need to do a few things:

1. You need an offer you created for your product or service. (This can even be something that’s free, like a book or whitepaper.)

2. An opt-in form to capture leads (email addresses)

3. A call to action button (CTA) which takes them someplace and captures the lead or sales information.

I am a big fan of the CTA button. Or in the case of just getting a lead, you can collect the lead right from the landing page. However, either way, works. The key is to provide an offer and capture the email address or any combination of contact information. I like getting just a name and email for starters and then I will add to the contact in the future by getting a phone number, address details about their business, etc. For now, we are starting small.

As far as landing pages go the best way to get familiar with them is to check out a few examples online. I will provide you with a few links to some landing pages you can easily customize with your artwork.

Here are some landing page guidelines I use on all of my pages.

Single page no navigation of other links at the top. This has been the rule of thumb for a long time and it still works well depending on how you are driving traffic to your site. If you are relying heavily on google searches you may be in trouble with this one because Google would like to see some navigation on your page. If your traffic is coming from somewhere else like YouTube, Facebook Ads, or some other site you can get away with not having the links at the top and have a link or two on the bottom of the page. For now, I would say leave them out until you develop a strategy to use them.

Have your company logo at the top and have that link to the home page of your website.

What I mean when I say a strategy is some type of online sales funnel where you have a targeted approach from generating leads to converting those leads to sales and then retargeting those customers with new products or services. Sales funnels are necessary as you begin to grow your list and what we are doing here is laying the foundation to incorporate a sales funnel strategy into your website later on.

At the bottom of your landing page be sure to include a link to a privacy policy and/or some sort of terms and conditions page.

Google treats every page on the internet like a website so the google bots will be looking for some form of navigation on your page.

Landing pages will be one of the key components to building your online business of the personal brand. They work extremely well and thousands of small online businesses have used them to generate income fast.

In fact, if you have an existing product or service. You can start with a landing page to begin selling online before you’ve built out your website. Just remember there is a strategy to creating a high-converting landing page. So I will be creating an entire course to show you exactly how to build it and include all the sections you will need.

“So Stay Tuned!”

While there are many other guidelines you could follow when creating your landing pages, these three should be a good starting point. Keep in mind that the goal is to keep people on your page and get them to either convert or take some desired action. If you can do that while keeping their attention focused on what you want them to do, then you’re well on your way to more sales and conversions.
