Learn why you should never use free web hosting for your professional website.

Now I did say in other posts and video courses that you can build your website for less than $100.00 and you can use WordPress.com to set up a free site and not pay any hosting fees at all.
I said it but I don’t recommend it. It’s because you need to have full control over your web space and free services limit your access to the backend of your website which you may need later on to do any customizations to your site which is primarily what a web developer does.
So I don’t recommend free. However, I do recommend cheap. In this article, I will explain website hosting and provide some good recommendations to keep your website costs low.
So you need a place to host your website. Here is where you will store all the files that will be needed to get your website up and running. They are a lot of free Webhosting services out there but don’t use them under any circumstances. You are building a professional business.
Anything free usually comes with advertisements being displayed or the lack of your ability to customize it.
There are a lot of good web hosting plans out there. For the purposes of this course, I will be using Web Sales Academy.
I have been using them for about 10 years for most of the sites that I have personally built. They are very inexpensive at less than $10. per month. Most companies charge within that price range, and you are free to choose who you like.

It is okay to purchase your web hosting from the same place you brought your domain. Just be careful not to purchase managed services that include your domain name. I had one client who purchased a managed hosting plan with included a free domain and we she decided to switch hosting companies they charged her over $500. Just to release her domain.
Always remember, your domain name is your property and as long as you keep up with the renewal cost you can own it and take it with you wherever you go. So make sure when you purchase your domain name that it is yours. In either case, use a reputable company like Web Sales Academy or Name Hero, you won’t have to worry.
Again I can’t stress this enough. Make sure you have access to the back end of your website before choosing a web hosting company. Many providers are finally making the switch, but it’s important to be sure. Web Sales Academy provides complete access and web designers love them for it.
